Biography

Wire of the rider and ordinary gentleman of the king Charles of With a grid-Brézé († 1615) and of Jacqueline de Thévalle, he was captain of the bodyguards of the queen mother (1620), governor of Saumur (1626), captain of the 3° French company of the bodyguards of the king (1627), adviser of State (December 1629), Brigadier (1630), Ambassadeur of France in Sweden (1631), Gouverneur of Calais, Marshal of France (November 28th 1632), knight of the orders of King de France (May 14th 1633), Viceroy of Catalonia (November 17th 1641)

In February 1617, the mother of Urbain had obtained against a money large sum the rise in the family ground of Brézé in marquisat. The November 25th 1617, Urbain of With a grid-Brézé married Nicole of Plessis-Richelieu (1587-?), younger sister by Armand-Jean of Plessis-Richelieu.
