Métal Urbain is one of the first groups Punk French, very influenced on the one hand by the Stooges and the Pistols, and on the other hand by an approach minimal synth related with the American group Suicide.
Biography
Slicing by a its explosive, a radical image and its very subversive texts voluntarily, the group leaves some individual and an album, meeting an enthusiastic reception in England, in particular at
John Peel and near the
label Rough Trade. In France, Métal Urbain has evil to exceed the fringe of the first fans of the punk-rock'n'roll, movement underground whose vitality is scorned by the French media (even by the media rock'n'roll). That led to the separation of the group, with the whole beginning of the
the Eighties, certain members trying to devote itself then to a reformation of the group under various other names (" Boys" Metal; , " Doctor Mix & The Remix"), without however reaching that point.
The titles headlights of the group are “ Panik ” “ Paris Maquis ” “ Connective Hysterie ” and “ Crève bitch ”.
The members of the groups scattered thereafter in various formations like the Métal Servant boys, Dr. Mix, Desperados, etc
A new formation is in hand since 2003, around Eric Débris and Hermann Schwartz.
Electro approach the “punk” of the group, very innovative in its time, in referred for groups like The Jesus and Mary Chain, Bérurier Noir (with the Boîte at rates/rhythms), or for the producing Steve Albini.
