Urbach
Urbach is a variation (or Hameau) of the Commune Frenchwoman of Epping, in the department of the the Moselle.
Geography
The hamlet is located in country discovered, near the Königstrasse , connecting Bouquenom to Deux-Ponts.
History
A stele appearing Mercure was discovered on the round of applause of the variation, testifying to the seniority of the site. The variation is mentioned for the first time in 973 in the form Urebach , the Ruisseau of the Aurochs.
In spite of the Bombardment S of February and March 1944, the hamlet preserved some old houses and its vault, dedicated to holy Vincent of Paul, built in 1776. At the 19th century, several stone, sculptor masons of crosses of way raised in the surroundings, were established in Urbach, in particular Nicolas Schmitt and Louis-Pierre Huth.
From the spiritual point of view, the variation constitutes an appendix of the Paroisse of Epping since 1802, in the archpriest of Volmunster.
From the administrative point of view, the variation is an appendix of Epping since 1811, in the Canton of Volmunster.
Places and monuments
The farm located at 35, rue du mill, dated 1763 before the transformations which affected it, preserved its door pedestrian at the strongly profiled casing. The staples is decorated with the Monogram of the Christ in the concave part. The niche which surmounts it is flanked of two balusters carrying of the Chérubin S, being detached on a striated framework, very characteristic of the area.
