Ur is the name of the one of the more known old continents, formed there is approximately 3 billion years during the Archéen. Formed of part of the Southern Africa, of Madagascar, is India and extreme west of the Australia, Ur survived during nearly 2800 million years, before being torn by the parcelling out of Gondwana to the Jurassic . It is thought that Ur was with its formation the single continent of its time, although being smaller than Australia. It was probably formed following the successive collision of several insular arcs of ic origin Volcan.
