Urška Žolnir
Urška Žolnir , born the October 9th 1981, is a Slovenien judokate which is illustrated in the category of the welter-weight (- 63 kg). Double champion of Europe junior, it gained the bronze medal with the OJ with Athens in 2004.
With the Olympic Games 2004 with Athens, the Slovenien gains the bronze medal. After having beaten the former Olympic champion Driulis González with the first turn, it overcomes the double Belgian Olympic medal-holder Gella Vandecaveye. Finally of table, it must yield vis-a-vis Austrian the Claudia Heill and must then dispute the match for the third place. Vis-a-vis in Argentina Daniela Krukower, Žolnir does not tremble and thus goes up on the first major podium of its career. It confirms the following year while going up on the podium of the championships of the world to the Cairo. With the Euro 2007, it is beaten finally by the Frenchwoman Lucie Décosse but gains her first European medal.
