Upupiformes

Of the upupiformes (or Upupiformes ) comprises currently 2 S of Oiseau X, traditionally classified in of the Coraciiformes (sub-order of the Upupae ).

Systematic position

In the Classification of Sibley & Monroe, the Upupae were high with the row of order with two families:
  • upupidés (1 kind, 1 species & 8 subspecies), family of the fasciée Crested,
  • phœniculidés , (2 kinds, 8 species & 24 subspecies), family of the Irrisor S, birds endemic of the Ethiopian zone.

Following recent studies, the kind Rhinopomastus initially classified in a particular family, the rhinopomastidés was reinstated in that of the phœniculidés (see list of Alan P. Peterson).
