Upsilon Andromedae B

Upsilon Andromedae B (sometimes called Upsilon Andromedae Ab which distinguishes it from the red dwarf stars Upsilon Andromedae B) is a planet extrasolaire orbits about it around the star Upsilon Andromedae has like the Sun every 4,62 days. Discovered in 1996 per Geoffrey Marcy and Paul R. Butler, it was one of first Jupiters heats to be discovered. Upsilon Andromedae B is the deepest planet known in its planetary system.

Discovered

Like the majority of the known planets extrasolaires, Upsilon Andromedae B was detected by the variations its radial speed of star caused by the gravity of planet. The variations were detected while making sensitive measurements of the Doppler effect de Upsilon Andromedae of the spectrum. The planet was announced in 1996, with 55 Cancri B and in orbit around the planet Tau Boötis.
