Technique of UpRanking (literal translation: Gone up in Row) is an expression used to indicate the actions undertaken by a webmaster and/or a company in order to optimize the place of a site, or a page of a site, in the search engines and the directories, and this by using more or less orthodoxe techniques.

Etymology

The search engines (also called robots) use more or less complex Algorithmes to classify the pages that they see with an aim of classifying them by order of relevance. This classification carried out by the machine thus gives to each page a row (in English Rank). The more the row is raised, the more the bond towards the page of the site is likely to appear in first in the list posted by the engine. It is there from which comes the term from UpRanking, when the objective is to go up in these classifications, in order to be likely more to be seen Net surfers.
