Upavon

Upavon is a village of the Wiltshire, in England. As its name suggests it, it is located above ( Up ) the Avon which runs north in the south through the village. It is located 4 miles at the south of Pewsey, nearly 10 miles in the south-east of Devizes, and nearly 20 miles in the north of Salisbury. The roads A345 and A342 cross the village. Most of Upavon is located between 90 and 100 meters above the sea level.

Air base of Upavon

The air base of Upavon is located 1 mile at the east of Upavon. It lodges the Central Flying School and the principal institution of drive of pilots of the Royal Air Force. It is still used by the Air Training Body for the drive of the instructors and the pilots of Planeur S, and divides its installations with a club of sailplanes, Wyvern Army Gliding Club.
