In the Greek Mythology, Ladon (in Greek old Λάδων / Ládôn ) is a dragon, wire of Échidna and Typhon (or of Phorcys and Céto, according to the versions). It is equipped with one hundred heads, each one speaking in a different language.

Sent by Héra to protect the Apples from gold of the garden of Hespérides, it is killed by Héraclès at the time of one of its Twelve work. To thank it for its honest services, Héra places its skin in the sky, where is from now on the Constellation of the Dragon.
