Unterscharführer

Unterscharführer is a rank in the Schutzstaffel (S), the organization Paramilitaire of the party Nazi and in the Sturmabteilung (SA).

Created in 1934 after the Night of the Long Knives , it will perdura until the end of the S at the same time as the German defeat in 1945.

A Unterscharführer order usually of the teams from 7 to 15 soldiers.

In the Concentration camp, those having the rank of Unterscharführer were often assigned with a position known under the name of Blockführer , which was a position of supervisor of the Caserne S soldiers of the Prison of a concentration camp. The position of Blockführer is also related to the Holocauste because it was usually the Blockführer which was responsible for the Sonderkommandos which carried out the gazage Juif S and the “undesirable ones” of the Third Reich.
