Unpleasant-under-Wood is a commune of the Val-d'Oise located in flat of France, and with approximately 25 km in the north of Paris.
Its inhabitants are Villainois (be).
Geography
The commune is bordering on Belloy-in-France, Villiers-the-Dryness, Attainville, Maffliers and Saint-Martin-of-Hillock.
History
The name of Villaines comes from villana , derived from Latin villa , the farm.The name of the village called Villena in Parisiaco appears for the first time in 838 on testamant of Aldric, bishop of Mans. The Saint Martin's day abbey of Pontoise perceives the Dîme as of the 13th century. On an act of 1294, Mathieu IV of Montmorency, Chamberlain of France, yields six villages of which Villaines with the Abbaye of Saint-Denis, in exchange of the stronghold of Berneval-in-Caux. The seigniory passes to Jean Guyard in 1476, then in Jean the Flat-bottom ones at the beginning of the 16th century, and with Guillaume de Verthamont and his Denise wife the Beautiful in 1597. The ground is acquired in 1641 by Macé the Baker, Prévôt of the merchants of Paris.
In 1792, the village of Unpleasant-in-France is renamed Unpleasant-under-Wood. In addition to the cereal field crop, the work of the Dentelle realized by the women makes live the villagers of the 17th century at the 19th century. In 1804, the common one counts 145 inhabitants.
The construction of public edifices, and especially the realization of the railroad Montsoult-Luzarches in 1880 involves the modernization of the village.

Unpleasant-under-wood is served by the station of Villaines, on the network Transilien Paris-North, connects Paris-North - Luzarches. The station is served at a rate of a slow train per hour in off-peak hours and a semi-direct train to the 1/2 hour (direct of Paris with Sarcelles - Saint-Brice and slow train then) at a peak.It is necessary from 33 to 36 mn of way starting from the station of North.
