The university of the fine arts of the Meeting is an establishment of French higher education approved by the ministry for the Culture.
Located on the territory of the city of the Port, it was founded in 1991 by Alain Séraphine which a few front years had already created by the means of association that he chairs, the Village Titan, one year preparatory at the schools of art of the Metropolitan France. Installed at its street beginnings of park 8-March of the Oasis, the school which was called then the school of the fine arts and the trades of art of the Meeting made it possible to validate a Certificat of studies of visual arts, (CEAP).
It is in 1997 that it had the approval of the ministry to create a diploma with vat + 3, the national Diplôme of visual arts with the option Art (DNAP). It one 100% was delivered by the jury come from outside.
In 2002, the school moves to integrate its new buildings located opposite the municipal Médiathèque of the Port. Part of space will be rented the same year with the school of architecture of the Meeting. Architecture is signed Architecture Studio.
Since 2003 the school obtains a new approval of the ministry, it can from now on deliver DNAP with the options Design and Communication as well as a vat + 5, the higher national Diplôme of plastic expression (DNSEP) with these three options. The year 2003 will be one year of transition, where only one fourth year ago and not yet of fifth year.
2004 will be the year when the school becomes in an effective way higher school fine arts with a DNSEP.
The year 2006 will inaugurate a partnership with the Paris-VIIi university and the installation of a professional master in Multimédia offering to the students this new possibility of double diplomation.
2006-2007 see the installation of the Validation of the professional assets which will allow inter alia the preparation the DNAT.
