The University of textile industries of the East or Épinal was a school aiming at training engineers specialized in textile industries, founded in 1905 by Georges Juillard-Hartmann under the name of École of spinning mill and weaving of the East . It closed its doors on June 30th, 2005, pulled by the decline of French textile industry.
It becomes in 1922 the University of spinning mill and weaving of the East, then the University of spinning mill and weaving of the East in 1952, and takes finally its current name in the years 1970.
This school formed of the thousands of engineers and high-level techniciens of many countries.
