University of electrical engineering and electronics engineers

ESIEE (to pronounce “essié”), the university of electronics engineers and electrotechnical is the training center higher scientific and technical of the Chamber of commerce and Industry of Paris, public corporation, under supervision of the ministry for Industry.

It is resulting from the repurchase in 1960 of the founded School Breguet in 1904. In 1987, the school leaves the street Falguière in Paris to settle with Marne-the-valley.

The ESIEE is entitled by the Minister for higher education to deliver the Diplôme of engineer. It is member of the Conférence of the universities and the Polytechnicum of Marne-the-Valley

History

The ESIEE is a school centenary, founded in 1904, on the initiative of two pedagogs Charles Schneider and Marius Forgeron, in the past called school Breguet .

The Breguet School is placed under the sponsorship of a family whose three successive generations contributed to progress of Electricity at the XIXe century. These are the descendants, Louis and Jacques Breguet which will allow that the school takes the name of their aïeux. The school will remain during 56 years an private establishment, with the budgetary risks. She wants to be the equivalent of the National schools of Arts and Trades for mechanics in the teaching of electricity. In ten years, manpower passes from 37 to 400.

In 1914, manpower is reduced. The school will shelter during two years a military hospital.

In 1921, first graduate woman of the Breguet school

In 1922, it is the recognition by the State.

In 1926, the diploma receives a ministerial signature.

In 1939, the war, followed by the occupation of the territory. The operation of the school is not disturbed.

The ESIEE belongs since 1960 to the Chamber of commerce and of industry of Paris, recognized by the Commission of the titles of engineers and member of CGE (conference of the universities).

In 1987, inauguration of the buildings of the Marne the valley drawn by Dominique Perrault (more known as an architect of the National library of France). The main entrance is located in front of a roundabout containing a monument representing the axis of the Earth.

In 1991, launching with Kourou of the mini Satellite Amateur of Radio Astronomy (SARA) realized by the pupils of Esieespace

ESIEE Paris

Admission

The entry with the ESIEE Paris is done is:

  • in preparatory cycle after a VAT S on contest gathering the ESIEE Paris and Amiens

  • cycles engineer of it:
    • after the preparatory classes, on tests of the contest TELECOM INT of the bank Mines Bridges or contest ENSAM
    • with one HAD or a License, on file (1st year of the cycle of engineer) on national competition BTS/DUT (banks of tests ENSEA)
    • with a second year of License on file
    • with a first year of Master EEA (Electronic, Electrotechnique, Automatique), MST (Sciences and Technology, in the fields of speciality of the ESIEE) and Physical appliquée.sur file (2nd year of the cycle of engineer).

Course

Preparatory cycle

The preparatory cycle lasts three years in order to approach the reform Européenne LMD (level license).

It gives at the same time to the pupils a competence (to know and Méthodologie) in fundamental sciences (Mathématiques and Physique) and engineerings (double electronic culture and Informatique) making it possible to approach all the major ones.

It integrates a hands-on training into the experimentation with completion of projects integrated into the course, the control of the communication to the oral examination and the English and French writing and opportunity of developing personally as a practitioner of the Sport and taking part in certain school extra activities (associative, artistic or cultural).

Cycle engineer and major

The cycle engineer lasts two years.

Conceived like the professionnalisante part of the course, the 2 last years are devoted on the one hand to the consolidation and the development of the scientific and technical training general and on the other hand to give to the student competences (knowledge and know-how) allowing him a fast integration in a professional environment.

The major of the ESIEE Paris are:

  • EASE (Integrating Architect of Electronic systems) in the past Electronic and Micro-electronic;

  • Data-processing;
  • signals and Telecommunication S;
  • embarked systems;

The ESIEE also proposes a training of engineer networks by the way of the training.

Mastères specialized

The ESIEE delivers also three mastères specialized:

  • the mastère specialized in engineering of the numerical media, partnership with Goblins, the school of the image. The purpose of this formation post-diploma with vocational guidance is specialization with convergence between communication and information Technologies and Audiovisuel. The technological questions and of management there are tackled during a programme of 600 hours of lesson, projects and achievements, are supplied with six months of Stage in company. This training cycle created in 1995 is sanctioned by a diploma of the Chamber of commerce and Industry of Paris delivered by the ESIEE.

  • the mastère specialized in scientific, technical and economic intelligence
  • the mastère specialized in technological innovation and management of project

The doctoral ESIEE and schools ICMS and MODES

Group ESIEE takes part in two doctoral schools of the Polytechnicum of Marne-the-Valley:

  • doctoral school ICMS : " Information, Communication, Modeling, Simulation"

ICMS is a multi-field scientific school which associates mathematical sciences, of the communication, information and the matter not only in their fields of excellence respective but also complementary around the Numérique and of the Simulation, common concerns approached by the whole of the laboratories constituting the school.
  • the doctoral school MODES: " Materials, Works, Durability, Environment and Structures"
The research topics of the doctoral school MODES are in one or more following disciplines: mechanics of the structures, mechanics and Soil mechanics physics of materials, rock and , for Civil engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial engineering.

Community life

Official reception ESIEE

Official reception ESIEE is one of the largest evenings coeds of France, doubling certain years the official reception Supélec and the Point Gamma of Polytechnique. Each year, a team from ten to twenty pupils devotes eight month to the organization of this evening, which generally does not go without posing problems on the level of the schooling. Moreover, one important part of the pupils of the school devotes a fifteen or so days to the assembly and disassembling of the Official reception. Its slogan, howled by the pupils of first year, is “Official reception ESIEE - Bourrin”.

The figures are impressive: official reception ESIEE accommodates each year with the autumn more than 6000 people, 400 voluntary students take part in the good performance of the evening, more than 150 security agents… One of the characteristics of this evening is that it is held in the same buildings of the school (buildings of the group ESIEE and ISTM, pertaining to CCIP) because of their important dimensions, benefitting inter alia broad spaces from the long interior “street”, gymnasium and canteen.

Junior-company

The Group of Studies of Raised ESIEE (G3E) is the Junior-Company of the school, member of the National confederation of the Junior-Companies. This association with nonluccratif goal is a real catalyst of energy for the students of the school. The team of the G3E endeavors as well as possible to concretize their efforts so that they can carry out professionnalisants projects, with the direct contact of the world of the company, under best the conditions.

Founded in 1982, the G3E proposes its services with the companies (and private individuals) in the fields of competence of ESIEE:

Localization

The school is located on the Campus Descartes (access by the station Noisy-Fields of the RER has or via the highway A4, left quoted Descartes). Its buildings also lodge ISTM and ISBS.

ESIEE Amiens

In 1992, one second school opens with Amiens, under the supervision of the chamber of commerce of Amiens. It recruits on the same contests as the ESIEE Paris.

Major

The ESIEE Amiens has three major :

  • Genius of the Data-processing networks and Telecommunications (GRIT);
  • Genius of the electric Systems (GSE);
  • Genius of the Systems of Production (GSP).

Community life

Esiee-Amiens official reception

Like his/her big brother of Paris, the official reception of the ESIEE Amiens is a large evening coed (largest of Amiens). The official reception is organized by about fifteen students who démènent themselves of Mars to November to find sponsors and artists so that the event is a success. The official reception proceeds every year towards mid-November in the buildings of the school.

The characteristic of the evening is that it is organized by the students for the students. During fifteen days it is all the school which is mobilized to make the promotion of the official reception, to assemble the various bars and to decorate the school. During the evening, they are the students who hold the bars, the cloakrooms and the reception.

Each year, the official reception they is 7 environments and 9 bars and restaurants.
