University of decorative arts of Strasbourg

The University of decorative arts of Strasbourg is a French school of Art .

It in particular exempts lesson in various fields, since 1972 the illustration with the opening of the workshop of illustration of Claude  Lapointe, whose reputation was done starting from the Mostra degli Illustratori di Libri per Ragazzi or Foire of the children's book of Bologna (Italy) in 1980. Let us not forget that Strasbourg is the birthplace of Gustave Doré, the large ancestor of the French illustration and Tomi  Ungerer, moreover returned in its time of Arts décos of Strasbourg.

A whole generation of illustrators currently working for the large French editors of literature youth is resulting from this workshop: Géraldine  Alibeu, Laurence  Afano, Thomas  Baath, Ronan  Badel, Laurence  Batigne, Joseph  Béhé (become professor in this school), Serge  Bloch, Betty Bone, Benjamin  Heat, Catherine  Chion, Émilie  Chollat, Thierry  Christmann, Monike Czarnecki, Véronique  Deiss, Gaëtan  Dorémus, Delphine  Durand, Xavier  Frehring, Mathias  Gally, Aurélie  Guillerey, Cécile  Gambini, Delphine  Attic, Christian  Heinrich, Ginette  Hoffmann, Philippe  Munch, John  Howe, Amélie  Jackowski, Sophie  Kniffke, Maryse  Lamigeon, Olivier  Latyk, Anaïs  Massini, Schickler  Mérel, Séverin  Millet, Marjorie  Pourchet, Clotilde  Perrin, Renaud  Perrin, Isabel  Pine, Olivier To sandpaper (become responsible for the workshop for didactic visual of this school), Frédéric  Pontarolo, Hélène  Rif, Anne  Romby, Marianne  Roth, Rémi  Saillard, Ève  Tharlet, Anne  Tonnac, Christian  Voltz, Nicolas  Wintz… like Yann  Wehrling, carries word of the Verts.

Many authors of cartoon attended the school: Planchon, Simon Hureau, Lisa  Mandel, Mathieu  Fir tree, Pierre Duba Helene Georges, Blutch, Ball, Lucie Durbiano or Marjane  Satrapi.

Direction

Since 2003, Katia  Baudin-Reneau was the director of this school. In February 2007, she announces her resignation: its contract will not be renewed. Mrs. Katia Baudin Reneau left her functions of director of the University of Decorative Arts of the Town of Strasbourg since September 10th, 2007. Mr. Otto TEICHERT will take his functions of Director dated January 1st, 2008.

Mrs Baudin-Reneau succeeded Jean-Pierre  Greff, (today directing of the University of the Art schools of Geneva) which was director of 1993 to 2003. Before him, Jean-Marie Krauth and the sculptor François  Cacheux, which lives today in Anjou and which is the most former still alive director.
