The Université of all the knowledge ( UTLS ) is an initiative of the French government in order to popularize the last projections of science. In the beginning a celebration of the year 2000 (and in front of thus confining themselves with 366 conferences, one each day of the year), its success was such as the UTLS was taken again every year since then.

Initiative of Jean-Jacques Aillagon, the university project was carried out under the direction of the philosopher Yves Michaud. In addition to the exemption from payment and the quality of the conferences, the great force of the UTLS is to allow each and everyone to download free the entirety of the conferences (with two exceptions near: Christian Stoffaës - the deregulation - 2000 - and the airport of Ōsaka - 2004 -, documents used not being free of right) to the video or audio format (since 2003, one can download the audio version of the conferences in the free format Ogg Vorbis).

There does not exist at present of easy solution to download the whole of the conferences. There exists at least a semi-official mirror proposing the whole of the conferences.
