University of Tunis

The Université of Tunis is a Université based with Tunis (Tunisia).

It is founded in 1960 in substituent at the existing institutions. In 1988, it is subdivided in 3 institutions, the universities of Tunis I, II and III, following the reorganization of the establishments of higher education and scientific research. In 2000, these three institutions make place with 4 establishments, of which the University of current Tunis.

The University of Tunis currently ensures an about sixty specialities distributed between 15 establishments of higher education and research. It counts approximately 32.000 students framed by more than 1300 teachers.

The academic year 2004 - 2005 is placed under the sign of the opening in order to increase the co-operation inter-academic in order to contribute to the realization of a euro-Mediterranean space of higher education and research.
