University of Technology of Troyes

The University of Technology of Troyes ( UTT ) is a University engineers Frenchwoman. She is member of a network of three Université S particular Frenchwomen and of with Shanghai (UTSEUS): the Universities of technology.

Inspired by the American university of PEN, these three French schools (UTBM, UTC, UTT ) are a mixture between the French universities and the schools of engineers: indeed, although organized like the universities (choice of the matters, separation in progress, directed work and practical works…) these establishments give a training of engineer accredited by the Conférence of the universities equivalent to the Bac+5 formations of the traditional schools. It is the only school (and only public structure) to function in matric structure (The problem of the matric structure is that to pass by the decisional channels takes too much time. To obtain approval for to often make anything requires the agreement of each type of expert and their persons in charge!).

The UTT was created in 1994. It exempts a teaching leading to diplomas of Engineer, and has important research laboratories, in particular in the field of the nanotechnologies.

Formation

The trainings of engineer are organized in two years of integrated preparatory classes called joint Base then three years of cycle engineer called branches . Just like the traditional preparatory classes, the first two years prepare the students to be returned in the cycle engineer, with two differences near: there is no examination entrance and the choices must be limited to the various formations presented by the three schools of the group of the Universities of Technologys. Lastly, like many schools of engineer, UTs make it possible to follow in last year a double diplômant course and to receive in addition to its diploma for the occupation of engineer a professional Master (in the past OF the) or a Master seeks (in the past DEA). Attention , that is possible only if you have very a small number of course to follow for your last six-month period of study out of die . In other words, that is not possible that if you followed the Joint Base (Vat with Bac+2/3) while having cumulated appropriations ECTS and of UVs in advance. For the students returning directly in Branch (Bac+2+), to consider this double diploma engineer/master, it will be necessary to follow and make a success of 7 UVs in all your six-month periods.

The admission is done after a scientific baccalaureat for the joint base and with a level DEUG, HAD, BTS or CPGE for the branches. It is also possible to be allowed after a Maîtrise in 2nd year of cycle engineer.

The formations of third cycle of the UTT are pressed, in particular, on the research laboratories and a doctoral school.

International cooperation

The policy of the UTT is to encourage the students to accomplish a stay of studies, a technical training course or a project of end of studies abroad.

Purses of assistance to mobility are allotted to all the students ( stock exchange or not ) by the area Champagne-Ardenne. Moreover, the UTT proposes, after examination of the motivations of the candidate, the loans on trust.

The UTT takes part in programs of international exchanges and signed agreements of bilateral cooperation with foreign universities. The favorite destinations of the students are the European countries, Canada and the United States. Other countries, like Mexico, Argentina, Australia and Singapore gain in popularity.

Community life

Community life is in the middle of the life coed of the UTT. Federated around two principal associations, BDE (Office of the students) and BDS (Office of the sports), it offers to the students a broad choice of activities to occupy their spare times.

Sports

The UTT, in addition to one course arranged for the sportsmen, proposes by the means of its associations a whole panel of sports activities. Here some of the principal structures constituting a choice of more than one about fifty disciplines:

Air Campus Troyes : This association has as an ambition to make discover with the Trojan students the world of aeronautics in the form of very diverse activities: patents of aeronautical initiation, first flights, main patents and piloting at cost compatible with a budget studying, but also construction and restoration of planes, drive on simulator, etc Of other activities (aeronautical living rooms, conferences, animations on the airport of Troyes…) are also organized on the initiative of the members of association.
Anim'Dance : To learn rock' N roll, to improve, evolve to the lifting one, to learn from the exotic dances (salsa…).
Club Rock'n'roll
the aspi : It is about the club motor bike of the UTT. It is given the responsability to create partnerships to pass the license, and organizes stroll in the neighborhoods of Troyes. Exits at the 24 hours of Mans and world of the 2 wheels were already organized.
ASUTT (BDS): The Sports association of the UTT, commonly called Office of the Sports, proposes each six-month period to take part in sporting tournaments (paintball, bowling, squash…) at reduced prices. It also organizes specific events which make it possible UTTiens to face other Trojan students or the students of the UTC and UTBM.
ISM (Institute of the Mechanical Sports): The ISM is an association which aims to return the practice of the mechanical sports accessible to all the students from the UTT.
the RUTT (Rugby UTT) : Rutt, more than one team of Rugby, an association which really moves! Of September at June, matches of Rugby of course but also of the 3rd half-time. We periodically organize a great tournament with 7 gathering the teams of the universities and others, the voyages (in Ireland or in the Netherlands), the famous Basque bar lasting the official reception and of many evenings with topic…

Leisures

Silver : Within this club, the photograph is approached like tool of creativity, of individual expression. It is thus a question of developing a design " artistique" photography. The individual expression does not exclude, of course, the organization of exposures.

Big Band : Club made up of about fifteen musicians any level to improvise on any kind of music, during the year 2006-2007, the big band was likely to be able to occur with musicians like Daniel Casimir, Nicolas Genest and also with Surnatural Orchestra.
Club Elektro : The club of all the electronic musics. Organization of evenings and participation in various events.

Modelutt : The activity suggested to the students relates to mainly the model aircraft making. The club has several models (planes and sailplanes) at disposal of the members, and who allow the beginners to learn piloting.
Media (video club and cinema): The Média club organizes the weekly film projection in the large amphitheater.
Pulsation : Club music and together vocal: Pulsation gathers all the musicians and music lovers with the UTT. We propose with the groups to repeat in the room of music and organize various evenings concerts.
STUTT Prod : Club of video and assembly. The club of every moment… With their assemblies vidéos for the re-entry, the Official reception and the evenings, they immortalisent the student events.
Tasoeur : Troublemaker with the service of the organization of the successful events uttiens, organizes the evenings and animations in the UTT (Thursday it is allowed, flash mob, aperitif hearth…)
Théâtre : Club of theater.

Technology

a love of 4L : This association takes part in the 4L Trophy. This humane race in the African desert allows each year the distribution of school stationery in the moved back villages. But for leaving for one week intense happiness, it is initially necessary to find sponsors and especially to prepare the vehicle.
Emutt : Club EMUTT (Eco-Marathon UTT) has existed within the UTT for soon two years. UNG (UTT Net Group): Data-processing association which manages the student site (waiters and pages), organizes formations organizes the utt arena (a LAN party), organizes purchases grouped for the students and the personnel of the University
Windridertrain : This association aims at promoting the implementation of fast terrestrial means of transport with lift pneumatic, sure, economic and ecological.

The members of Eco-Campus 3 are at the origin of the installation of recycling at the university, a public awareness campaign to energy saving, of a partnership with schools of the department to sensitize with the respect of the environment, organization of the week of sustainable development with the UTT, etc
Ellidoc : ElliDoc gathers the doctorands and doctors of the UTT. Its objectives are centered on the work of the thesis and a more sociocultural level. ElliDoc facilitates the diffusion of all information concerning the course of a thesis and the possibilities which are offered to the young doctors. Association represents its members near any interlocutor. In addition, ElliDoc organizes various scientific activities as well as exits (discovery of the area, meetings sporting, stays…).
IS (Students Tibet Solidarity).
Space Citizen : This association sensitizes the students with the questions of citizenship and company, and this, at the levels academic, room, national, European and world. Space Citizen is a space to discuss between students, to dialog and reflect on these topics. It tries to act to improve the university life. A newspaper is published 4 times per annum: I ECUT. Official reception UTT : For the night of the UTT, they organize, make overtime, run in the corridors, without never forgetting that the Official reception is the event impossible to circumvent of the year, one evening of prestige each more astonishing year.
Interlink : This club takes part in the reception of the foreign students. It helps them in their research of housing and for the administrative formalities. Its main object is to facilitate the integration of the students in the university, the city and in France. It organizes multiple cultural activities, artistic and sporting.
STF Troyes : Created in 1982, Engineers Without Borders is an international, apolitical, nongovernmental solidarity association and with nonlucrative goal. The UTT accommodates a group of the federation STF France since 1998 and counts a score of members. STF works on projects of development assistance in the countries of the South. Its objectives are on the one hand, the participation in the design of programs with an aim of making it possible the local populations to ensure their own development all in their bringing technical support and financier, and on the other hand sensitizing to France with the richnesses and difficulties of the countries of the South and with the problems involved in the development assistance. http://www.isf-troyes.org/

IDEA3:Junior Undertaken http://www.idea3.fr: This association, commune with the UTT, the ESC and the ESAA, give opportunity to the students of carrying out projects for professionals, making it possible to apply their knowledge, to acquire experiment and to be remunerated. The Junior Undertaken, it is also a dynamic young team which makes function association and provides the interface with the professionals. Treasury, accountancy, secretariat, communication, prospection, quality, data processing, project management… There is for all the tastes!
the Green Wheel : The Green Wheel aims at promoting the use of the bicycle downtown like means of transport fast, economic, ecological and making it possible to keep the form. The main objective is to set up a service of hiring of bicycles at disposal of the students.
SECUTT (Association of first aid): 1° Association of student first-aid worker. It is present at the time of all the sporting and festive events at the UTT to ensure held of the rescue station. It also deals with the training of the students with the gestures of first aid, like with the helps in team.
Ze Shop : Shop of the UTT, selling all kinds of objects scratched with the colors of the school. Is very sold to with it, of the sports shirt while passing by the cap to the bindings for the reports/ratios.
the GUBU : " Guide good UTTien" , created in 2005. It is distributed free at the beginning of year.

Infrastructures

The University of Technology of Troyes, installed in the middle of the Technopolis of the Paddle, has recent and very pleasant buildings. They allow the practice of the lesson and the associative and sporting activities.

The Sporting Market of the UTT

Inaugurated on December 1st, 2006, the sporting market, registered with the plan contract State-Area, was financed by the General advice of the Paddle (45%), the State, the area Champagne-Ardenne, the Community of the Trojan Agglomeration and the town of Troyes. The construction of this sports complex aimed at of:

to create a sports complex for the students of the UTT, of which the number believes year by year;
to fill the lack of room of examination in the department of the Paddle;
to offer to the users of the sporting center of the Paddle of the complete and modern installations, thus reinforcing its attractivity.
