University of State of economy and finances of Saint-Pétersbourg

The University of State d' Économie and Finances of Saint-Pétersbourg (Санкт-Петербургскийгосударственныйуниверситетэкономикиифинансов) was founded in 1930 on the base of the Polytechnic Institute of Leningrad as Institut of Finance and Saving in Leningrad (Ленинградскийфинансово-экономическийинститут, ЛФЭИ), from where its usual name Финэк (Finec).

Finec counts today 13.000 students, 11 faculties and 40 departments and is classified better economic educational establishment of Russia since 1991 according to the Web site of the Russian Minister of education. A Franco-Russian center having cooperation agreements with the University Grenoble II-Pierre Mendès-France and the Université Paris-Dauphine proposes a course in French language (License and Master).

Its buildings are located in the old bank at the exchange built on an ukase of Catherine II of 1738, in the Russian traditional style, on the quay of the Griboedov channel. Right in front of the bridge of the bank with its four is scratch (winged lions), supposed mythical creatures being the guards of the treasure.
