University of Rostock
The university of Rostock , located in the Land of Mecklembourg-Poméranie Western, in Germany, is one of the oldest universities of Northern Europe. It was founded in 1419 by the pope Martin V. Among most famous of his former students, one can quote the astronomer Tycho Brahé, the archelogist Heinrich Schliemann and the philosopher Moritz Schlick.
It counts eight faculties today (evangelic theology, philosophy and letters, natural science and mathematical, jurisprudence, engineering, agriculture and studies environmental, medicine, political sciences and social). It is one of the two universities of the Land of Mecklembourg-Poméranie Western, with that of Greifswald.
