University of Macerata

The Université of Macerata (in Italian, Università degli studi di Macerata ) is a Université Italy, located at Macerata in the Marches.

History

The first documented mention of a school of Droit in the town of Macerata goes up with 1290. The common one informs the close cities that it is a Studium at Maître Gioliosus (a medieval lawyer, Giulioso de Montegranaro). July 1st 1540, the pope Paul III establishes a Studium general with all traditional faculties: right, theology, medicine and philosophy.
