University of Islamic arts of Tabriz () the only provincial university of art in Iran (of another big city of Iran like Ispahan, Chiraz etc has only one faculty of art), founded in 1387, for academisation of the traditional formations of arts and the craft industries of Iran, like carpet (weaving and the drawing), pottery etc Pourtant today one finds there beside the others, of faculties of town planning, architecture, multi-media, carpet etc The university is located in six buildings scattered in the center of Tabriz, whose three excellent buildings belong at the time Zand and Qâdjâr, which is named in the list of the national heritages under the number of 1850, a fourth vast complex belongs at the time pahlavi, and two buildings founded previously one for the administration and the other for faculty of the multi-media one. For the moment it is it only university in Iran which has unit of research doctorate on Islamic architecture as well as research on the level of the mastère on Islamic art. Iran: historical chronology
