university of Iéna , baptized name of Friedrich Schiller, (in German, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena ) is a German university located at Iéna in Thuringe. It counts 20.600 students (2006) for 340 professors.

History

1558 is regarded as the official year of creation of the university. It received, on the initiative of the Gauleiter Nazi of Thuringe Fritz Sauckel, the name of Friedrich Schiller in 1934.
