The University of Glasgow , founded in 1451, is most important of the three Université S with Glasgow, in Scotland. It is a center of famous teaching and research. Among the universities of Scotland, it is classified second in seniority, the Université of St Andrews having been founded in 1411. It is also one of largest and more famous of the the United Kingdom, although it is placed second behind the Université of Edinburgh from the point of view of its population coed.

She was one of the great centers of the Art nouveau with Charles Rennie Mackintosh, founder of the Glasgow School off Art . She is member of the network Universitas 21 and the Russell Group .
