The Université of Cyprus was creates in 1989 and the first students obtained their diploma in 1992. It takes into account approximately 3,500 student (2004/2005).

It is located at Nicosie, the capital of Cyprus. The official languages are the modern Greek and Turkish, even if few Turkish-speaking students are present.
