University of Bolton
The university of Bolton (in English: University off Bolton ), in the past the Institute of higher learning of Bolton ( Bolton Institute off Higher Education ), is most recent of the British universities. It is located at Bolton, in the Lancashire, and counts 8.000 students.
History
The Bolton Institute off Higher Education was founded in 1982 by the fusion of the Bolton Institute off Technology and of the Bolton College off Education and authorized to deliver diplomas in 1990. Starting from 1994, it was authorized to deliver diploma of research.In April 2004, the institute accepted the statute of university and thus seeking a new name. The choice was to be done between Bolton University , Bolton Institute University , West Pennines University and Bolton Leverhulme University . The new name chosen, University off Bolton was announced the September 2nd 2004 and was approved by private Conseil of the Queen the January 27th 2004.

The university counts nearly 8.000 students whose vast majority (80%) comes from the area of the Lancashire.
