University of Algiers

The university of Algiers (Arab: جامعةالجزائربنيوسفبنخدة) is a university Algérie being in the capital Algiers. Founded in 1909, it gathers seven faculties today.

History

The university of Algiers is the first Algerian university, it was founded by the law of the December 30th 1909. The creation of this university is the result of a series of stages marked by the law of 1879 creating four specialized schools: medicine, pharmacy, sciences, letters and right.

After the independence of Algeria, the university developed much especially since the reform of the higher education of 1971, undertaken by the Algerian government.

Organization

The university of Algiers is composed of seven faculties management and

  • Medical college gathering three departments: Medicine, pharmacy and chirdent.
  • Faculty of Social sciences and Human
  • Faculty of Political sciences and the Communication
  • Faculty of Arts and Languages
  • Islamic Faculty of Science.
