University faculty of agronomic sciences of Gembloux

The university faculty of agronomic sciences of Gembloux (FUSAGx) is the oldest Belgian institution of teaching and research which is devoted exclusively to the Agronomie and biological engineering (1860).

Its actions are organized around three axes:

  • agronomic sciences;

  • sciences and technologies of the environment;
  • chemistry and bio-industries.

Faculty occupies the buildings of a founded Benedictine abbey towards 940 which, after having crossed various turbid periods, was rebuilt at the XVIIIe century.

It is located at Gembloux, in the French-speaking part of the Belgium (Europe), between Namur and Brussels. Several other institutions centered on teaching or research in same the fields revolve around Faculty and make of Gembloux true a AgrobiopĂ´le.

After a five years minimum of studies, primarily carried out in French language, it delivers the diplomas of Bioingénieur in one of the ten orientations (general agronomy; tropical agronomy; economy and development; protection of the plants; horticulture; sciences and livestock productions; nature, National Forestry Commission; management of the environment and town and country planning; agricultural engineering and environmental; chemistry and bioindustries (sciences and technology of food - technologies of water - chemistry and biotechnology)).

Lastly, it makes it possible to undertake studies within the framework of European exchanges and On the other side of the Atlantic.
