Universal mixed big room
The universal mixed Big room (GLMU) is a maconnic Obédience, resulting from the scission from with the French federation of the " Human right ".
Already in 1913, a first attempt had taken place, by the creation of the Mixed Big room Symbolic system under the same reason: too great importance of the the Supreme Mixed Universal Council " Right Humain" on the operation of obedience.
But the arrival of the Second world war prevented its evolution.
Creation
Created in February 1973, by three cabins of the Human right, it will take as the first name " Mixed big room Human-Tradition" Universal-Right;.The Grand the East of France will deliver a license of the French Rite to him.
The first two Large Masters will be Eliane Brault and Raymond Jalu.
Operation
It forms a federation of cabins made up in blue cabins (the first three degrees). Those work for the majority with the French Rite, others with the Scottish Rite old and accepted ( REAA ), some with the French Rite Salvador Allende alternative.In 1979, the GLMU will adopt its Constitution, very near to that of the Great East of France.
In 1995, the general assembly of Freemasons of obedience will affirm his specificity at the time of a motion, voted unanimously, preaching a republican, mixed Freemasonry and of proximity " whose currency Freedom, Equality, Fraternité is supplemented Solidarity and is integrated in a federator principle the Laïcité, heard like the refusal of all dogmatisme". This definition always characterizes this obedience.
Its specificities will continue again at the time of its successive general assemblies of Freemasons articulated on major topics concerning the Co-education, the Secularity, the internal Democracy, the Equality of all its members and the total Independence of Obedience with respect to Areliers of improvement which were constituted in a different Obedience.
In November 2002, some three years before the celebration of the centenary of the promulgation of the law of separation of the churches and the State, the GLMU recommends that on December 9th becomes a national Journée of Secularity.
The GLMU currently
The universal mixed Big room counts a little more than 1.000 members for a little more than 50 cabins.-
In 1982 a scission of some cabins will give rise to the mixed Big room of France.
