Universal Media Disc

UMD (for " Universal Media Disc ") of storage optical owner developped at the point in 2004 by Sony is media and intended for his portable console PSP© (PlayStation Portable ©).

Of a capacity of 1,768 Go, it allows inter alia storing plays, films as well as music. The diameter of discs UMD is of 60 Misters the disc in him even is similar to the mini most used DVD, but it is protected by a plastic hull which allows its insertion the manner of a cartridge in the console. Lately, the very low sales of video UMD led the studios which publish some with completion to stop, or to strongly reduce their production.
