Unit 101

The Unité 101 is the first unit of Special forces of the history of the Israeli army. The purpose of the unit, which existed between the August 28th 1953 and January 1954, was to lead operations of reprisals to the opposition to Palestinian, after a series of raids against the Israeli civilians. It was directed by Ariel Sharon and was placed under the direct orders of the Israeli Prime Minister David Ben Gourion.
