Union valdôtaine
The Union valdôtaine ( UV ) is a Political party Italy N, centrist, traditionally combined with the center-left, which represents the interests of the autonomous region of the Val of Aoste (population Franco-provençal E).
Created the September 13rd 1945, the shortly after the promulgation of the “Decrees of the Lieutenant of the Kingdom” (whereas the Italy was a kingdom). These decrees, approved by the government Italy N chaired by Ferruccio Parri the August 8th of the same year and communicated the town hall of Aoste, introduced the first elements of an autonomous organization for what was going to become an autonomous region within the framework of the news Italian Constitution (coming into effect in 1948). For the Union valdôtaine the capacity of self-government allotted to the area by these two acts was too weak and its political line was clear: only an international guaranteed could effectively have safeguarded the rights of Valdôtains (these decrees had however been established on the pressure of the France, the general Charles de Gaulle having even considered the annexation of the area and not only the limited correction of border which was the subject of a treaty in 1947).
The defense of the ethnic character and linguistics completely particular of the Val of Aoste is the top priority of UV (statutes of the movement).
Until April 2006, UV had at the Italian Parliament a senator (it is the only Italian area to be represented only by one senator and one deputy) which was then combined with the Union: Augusto Rollandin, elected in May 2001 in the uninominal college and which had adhered to the senatorial group “Per Autonomy” ( for autonomies ).
Carlo Perrin was the president of the regional junta of the Valley (District council) of July 2003 to 2005. It moves away from the movement when Luciano Caveri is preferred to him and that the way of insulation is selected for the legislative elections of 2006. It then founds a movement entitled For a free union valdôtaine and allows the election the center-left of a deputy and a senator valdôtains in a list entitled Autonomie Freedom Democracy.
From 2000 to 2003, Luciano Caveri was European Député UV (group ELDR), elected on a allied list with the Italian Democratici of Romano Prodi, during a mandate partial of June 2000 with the July 17th 2003.
Augusto Rollandin was Senator UV, member of the group For autonomies. On the other hand, Ivo Collé was a Député valdôtain separatist, which had left UV for the Movimento Stella Alpina, member of the group Mixte (linguistic Minorités sub-group) to the Camera dei deputati: it since joined UV. Its president is since 2003, Manuela Zublena.
The Union valdôtaine is a party member of the European free Alliance but was allied with Olivier for the European elections of June 2004 (29 430 votes and 0,1% of the voices).
