Union of the young people for progress
The Union of the Young people for Progress - Movement of the young gaullists is an political organization created on June 13rd, 1965. She gathered the young partisans of Charles de Gaulle, at the side of UNR - UDT, then of UDR.
With its apogee, it counted more than 30.000 members, very significant number for a political movement of youth. Its most important presidents were Michel Cazenave into 1966/67, who supported a line gaullist of left, and after 1968 Robert Grossmann founder president in 1965 and Jean-Paul Fasseau. It in particular took an action within the student trade unions reformists (AMRU, REFERENCE MARK, CLERU), founded a Union of the Young Workers and work in the international one (Committee of action for Biafra, France-Quebec, Solidarity association free-Arabic, France-Palestine, Mouvement for the independence of Europe).
Very concerned of its independence, it expressed it in 1974 when, after having made countryside for Jacques Chaban-Delmas with the 1st turn of the presidential election, it refused to invite to vote in favor of Valery Giscard d'Estaing to the second turn.
With the creation of the RPR in 1976 by Jacques Chirac, the UJP is remained independent and gradually more gathered only the young people gaullists of left. It provided a certain number of frameworks, members of Parliament and ministers to the R.P.R., but also to a lesser extent with the Socialist party and the chevenementists.
She knew a renewal of activity to the beginning of the year 1990 pennies the presidencies of Philippe Juvin, Christophe Beaudouin then of Olivier Marleix, and always constitutes an influential political network gathering the social gaullists.
The UDP (Union of the democrats for progress), animated by former national leaders founders of the UJP, Paul Aurelli, Yves Deniaud (Appointed Flowering ash) and Jean-Christmas Amadei perpetuates his ideas. (Patrick Ollier, appointed Hauts de Seine, is president of the friendly member of Parliament). These associations are generally regarded as satellites of the R.P.R. reactivated in election time.
