with the Government

The April 15th 2005, the whole of the ministers and the Secretaries of State of the UDC left the government Silvio Berlusconi by doing this causing the major governmental crisis since its installation and its resignation the April 20th. They agree, initially, to support the current government, but while remaining apart from this one. Certain surveys would allot to the UDC between 8 and 12% of the voices at the time of a national election. As of the April 23rd 2005, in spite of the confirmed departure of Marco Follini, as a vice-president of the Council, three ministers UDC return in the gouvernemnt Berlusconi (a) , it acts of Bacini, Giovanardi (confirmed at their station) and especially of Rocco Buttiglione which becomes Minister for the Culture (instead of the European Businesses, without wallet).

In addition to Marco Follini, vice-president of the Council, the government of Silvio Berlusconi II counted three other ministers UDC (all without wallet, Relations with the Parliament, Community Politique and Public office) and six Secretaries of State. As for the Nuovo PSI of Gianni De Michelis, it was represented there by a deputy secretary and a Secretary of State.

If Follini thus left the government as a vice-president of the council, the UDC continues to be represented in the Berlusconi III (April 23rd 2005), in particular by Rocco Buttiglione which is promoted with the Culture.
