The Union for the democracy (shortened in UPLD) is a political movement of French Polynésie, created in 2004, which gathers the freedom fighters, adversaries of the Plateforme separatist , and in particular the Tavini Huiraatira.

These two last are from now on close to the democratic Mouvement which supports their candidates with the legislative ones.
The UPLD is represented by 26 elected officials with the Assemblée of French Polynesia, which counts some in all 57 (2007).
