the Union African democratic Sudanese woman-Gathering (US-RDA) is a political party Mali in.
In 1946, with Bamako is created the African democratic Rassemblement. Felix Houphouët-Boigny is elected by it president. At the same time is created its Sudanese section directed by Modibo Keïta.
With the legislative elections of 1946 and 1951, the US-RDA is preceded by the Sudanese Parti progressist of Fily Dabo Sissoko. Only Mamadou Konaté is elected appointed with the French National Assembly. At the elections of 1956, the US-RDA arrives at the head at French Sudan and obtains two elected officials: Mamadou Konaté and Modibo Keïta.
The US-RDA will lead the French Sudan on the way of independence. Mali becomes independent in 1960 and Modibo Keïta is the first president.
In 1968, Modibo Keïta is reversed by Moussa Traoré which dissolves the US-RDA and imprisons its leaders. This party will continue its activities in clandestinity.
In 1990, part of the militants takes part in the creation of Alliance for the democracy in Mali which will become Alliance for the democracy with the African Mali-Party for solidarity and justice (ADEMA-PASJ) in 1991.
In 1992, at the time of the first presidential election which follows the democratic transition, Tiéoulé Konaté, candidate of the US-RDA arrives in second position at the first turn with 14,51% of the voices. With the second turn, with 31%, it is beaten by Alpha Oumar Konaré.
In 1998, the US-RDA is divided into two fractions. In 2001, part of the militants leave with Daba Diawara the US-RDA to found the Parti independence, the democracy and solidarity (PIDS).
Mamadou Bamou Touré is the president of the US-RDA.
