Underground river of Labouiche
The underground river of Labouiche is a prehistoric site located close to Foix, in Ariège.
History

1908 : Dr. Dunac begins exploration
- 1909 - 1912: continuation of exploration by Dr. Cremadells and A-E Martel
- 1935: Sirs assisted Salette and Crémadells of Norbert Casteret and Joseph Delteil discover 3800 meters of active network
- 1940 - 1943: Louis Méroc carries out archaeological research and updates prehistoric vestiges and Gallo-Romans, as well as bones of Tobu ( Tobus tobus sp. ) dating from the Cretaceous.
Discovered
A prehistoric occupation dating from the average Magdalénien (Paleolithic superior) is attested in the galleries higher of the river by the setting than the day of tools and weapons out of flint and wooden of reindeers, as well as movable Art (representations inter alia lion and of a bison).
Vestiges of the time Gallo-Roman were also found.
