Underground city
The expression underground city generally indicates the underground part of a city, made up of buildings and underground constructions accessible from the surface and via a network of tunnels connecting them, usually in the Center-ville of a city. In the cold areas or very heats, constructions profit from a more lenient temperature. The expression indicates sometimes underground networks of construction made for reasons of protection (military or of civil security).

Atlanta has a historical underground city, the Underground Atlanta, dating from the time of the " Subway " , but which following a difficult history has a reputation mitigated within the inhabitants of Atlanta.
Asia
- In Turkey, with Cappadoce, Kaymakli is an underground city which was dug on eight levels. The former Christians used it to hide. Nowadays, it is an archaeological site open on four stages to the tourists.
