Underground Montreal
The underground Montreal , or interior city , is the network of underground Ville of Montreal. Since 2004, it is indicated by the name of RÉSO .
History
The underground Montreal belonged to the modernization plans of the mayor of Montreal Jean Drapeau, in the Années 1950, just as the Métro of Montreal. It was born with construction from the Place City-Marie in 1962. It is the greatest underground complex in the world.
Geography
The network consists of 30 km of tunnels, covering 12 km ² and includes 60 residential and commercial complexes, adding up 3,6 km ² of space usable. This accounts for 80% of the space of office and 35% of the commercial space of the district of City-Marie. Among the accessible services, one counts Banque S, Hôtel S, shopping malls, head offices, buildings university, residences of luxury, like seven and two station subway stations of suburban trains. Underground Montreal comprises more than 120 access points external and more than 500.000 people use it each day, especially during the winter montréalais.
Buildings connected to RÉSO
The RÉSO is divided into several segments, of which most known is the central segment, in the district of City-Marie. It is located between the subways Peel and Place-of-Arts on the Green line and the subways Lucien-The Allier and Place-with Armes on the Orange line; these two under-segments are connected to the level of the stations McGill and Bonaventure, as well as stations Place-of-Arts and Place-with Armes.

In addition to binding several buildings of the University from Quebec to Montreal (UQAM) them houses Judith-Jasmine, Athanase-David, and Hubert-Aquin it is also connected to the central Terminus of bus, the station for connections intermunicipales, interprovinciales and towards the United States. The Place Dupuis, a complex commercial, of office and hotel, is also bound, just as the Grande Bibliothèque of Quebec.

This station comprises a direct connection starting from its entry on the street Guy to the
- Pavillon of the subway Guy (Guy Metro Building) of the University Concordia
- Pavillon of Genius, Informatique and visual Arts (Engineering and Visual Arts Complex) of the University Concordia
The Library (Library Building) and the house Henry F. Hall (Hall Building) could soon be connected to the subway by the new House of Genius, Informatique and Arts visual (Engineering and Visual Arts Complex), by supposing that the required funds can be piled up.
There is also a possible bond with the Faubourg Co.-Catherine, where the Concordia University has buildings. This one is already related on the tower of the Suburb (Tower Suburb) and to the campus of the Gray Sisters. The building of Bank TD (Toronto Dominion) that Concordia has just acquired is also prone to a potential bond.
At the present moment, there is no connection between the station Guy-Concordia and the tower to office which overhangs its entry, street St-Mathieu.
Segment Atwater
The Atwater station, in the west of the downtown area and the end is of Westmount, is connected to the shopping malls Plaza Alexis-Nihon and Westmount Square, with turns at offices, complexes residential and with CÉGEP of English language of the Collège Dawson.
