Under an sun ray

Under an sun ray is a Manga, collection of short stories of Tsukasa Hōjō.
Published in French with the editions Tonkam, it comprises three volumes on the whole.

Short summary of the history

Sara Nichikujo is a normal young girl seemingly. She lives with her father and the assistance to hold her shop of flowers. But Sara hides a secrecy: She is able to feel the emotions of the plants and to communicate with them. She will become acquainted with Tatsuya Kitazaki. She will show him that the plants have also a “heart” and that they can feel emotions. Sara also hides another secrecy much heavier. Indeed, its body does not age. She is forced to live with an appearance of child.

Characters

Nishikujo Sarah

Sarah is an young girl having a special capacity: she can speak with the plants and can even take a form special (she becomes a spirit with a body of adult). She helps her father with work and hates the school. She does not hesitate to dry the courses as of the first day. But as soon as one speaks natural, it becomes merry. She has another characteristic: it viellit not. It has a body of young girl but it has an adult heart.

Nishikujo Hayato

He is the father of Sarah. In spite of its appearance which makes fear with everyone, it hides a tender heart. He is florist however he has a little evil to sell his flowers because all the customers flee as soon as they see it. It will help Sarah and Tatsuya several times in their adventures.

Kitazaki Tatsuya

Tatsuya meets Sarah for the first time at the time when it is decided to cut a tree that it judges responsible for the state of his sister. After a dream, it gives up the idea to cut it and becomes friendly with Sarah. He discovers the secrecy of Sarah at the same time as his professor. But it will not reveal it by friendship (or love). In contact with Sarah, it opens more and more with nature.

Kitazaki Satsuki

Little sister of Tatsuya. Small, it fell from a tree and had the paralyzed legs. She is with the load of Tatsuya which makes its possible to help it. After a dream in which she sees the fairy of the trees which is not other than Sarah, she decides to take courses of rehabilitation.

OOki Genichiro

Professor in the school of Tatsuya. Ca passion is to photograph the young girls, moreover it has a large collection of photograph. Because of its inclinations, it is called “lolicon sensei” by Tatsuya (lolicon wanting to say complex lolita). It is the first to have doubts about Sarah. Indeed, it already photographed it in the past (it is because of a photograph of her that it began its collection). But not seeing any difference between the photograph and the current Sarah, it decides to inquire into her. In company of Tatsuya, it ends up surprising it using its capacities and regards it as a witch. At the end, it will test too late regret in its attitude conspicuous as a Sarah the perfect woman for him.

Sakurai Masaki

Trainee teacher in the class of Tatsuya and Sarah. Masaki has already to meet younger Sarah: they were in the same class (see the time of the cherry trees ). At that time Sarah saved the life to him by using her capacities but it to leave the city not to be persecuted. As of the first day, it went in Sarah to dissipate her fears. Unfortunately for him, which he sees over there is in conformity with its memories and as soon as he sees disappeared Sarah he. He realizes that neither Sarah nor her father seems to recognize it. Tatsuya having noticed the suspect intrigues of its professor decides to protect Sarah believing that Masaki will remove it for the account of a secret organization. After a missed dispute, dissolved Masaki fears of Tatsuya and become friendly. Masaki will see Sarah in her other form at the time of an excursion. When its training course finished, Sarah accompanied back it at the station and thanked it for its importance in its life because she remembered him.

Shigaki Jigoro

Called the king of the forest, it seems to hear and include/understand nature. Previously, it was a demon of the forests. But it changed after an accident which cost the life to the parents of Takehiko.

Shigaki Takehiko

Small son of Jigoro, it deals with the germander. This one will take the body of Sarah to warn Takehiko of the danger which it incurs: one wants to remove it. Takehiko knows at which point the death of his/her parents saddens his grandfather but he wants that this one is happy and ceases feeling guilty.
