Uncle Scrooge

Uncle Scrooge ( Uncle Picsou ) is the English nickname of Scrooge McDuck (Balthazar Picsou), character of the universe of Donald Duck. The name Scrooge is drawn from the tale a Christmas carol ( has Christmas Carol ) Charles Dickens.

Uncle Scrooge is a magazine of Cartoon whose stories have Picsou, generally accompanied by its nephews, for principal hero.

Owner of the rights on the stories, the Walt Disney Company delegates the publication of the cartoons. For Uncle Scrooge , the editors were:

  • Gladstone Publishing, 1986-1990
  • Disney Comics, 1990-1993
  • Gladstone Publishing, 1993-1998

Starting from the beginning of the year 1990, because of a disagreement on the property of the original boards, then because of the stop of the publication of Uncle Scrooge with the the United States of 1998 to 2003, the popular draftsman Keno Don Rosa draws for the Danish editor Egmont (first publication in the Scandinavian countries and Scandinavian).

The resumption of the title by the Gemstone editor is rewarded in 2004 by the Will Eisner Award for the best publication for young readers. The editor publishes stories of varied authors, of which regularly those of Don Rosa accompanied by a presentation by the author in third of cover.
