Ulrique Éléonore of Sweden
Ulrique Éléonore (Ulrika Eleonora) (February 23rd 1688 - November 24th 1741) was queen of Sweden November 30th 1718 with the February 29th 1720 and queen consort until his death. Last girl of the king Charles XI and the queen born Ulrique-Eléonore of Denmark, it succeeded in 1718 her brother Charles XII after having agreed to abolish the Absolute monarchy. She indeed accepted the new constitution which limited the royalty, sharing the capacity between the monarch, the senate and the States.
Married in 1715 with Frederic Ier landgrave of Hesse-Cassel, it abdicated in its favor in 1720. Its reign and that of her husband inaugurate the period known as era of the freedom which was one economic period of growth and of cultural blooming.
She lived then in the retirement, delivering herself to the pleasure of the study.
She died in 1741 of the Variole, and with her the dynasty of the Deux-Ponts died out.
