Ulric Guttinguer

Ulric Guttinguer , born the January 31st 1787 with Rouen and dead the September 21st 1866, is a Poète and Romancier French.

The true role of Ulric Guttinguer was to show and clarify the ways. Promoter of the romantic revolution , it was, with his compatriot Auguste Prévost, one of the most former literary friends of Victor Hugo, then of Holy-Beuve and Musset.

Guttinguer had published with the approval of Nodier, Nadir , Eastern history in Prose and Towards inspired by the Lalla Rookh of Thomas Moore. Appeared in 1828, Love and opinion , painting of the company under the Empire, was, according to Holy-Beuve, a “Elegy of end of empire, written by a ex-guard of honor where the characters are beautiful colonels and generals of twenty-nine years, young people and beautiful countesses of twenty-five; where the scene occurs in the castles and along the parks bordered of trees of Judaea and St Lucia. ” But the masterpiece of Guttinguer is Arthur , work written in a country cottage which it had made build in full forest, close to Honfleur, whose prose feels its poetry is a fine and intelligent chronicle passions of head and heart born of the idleness of the Restauration, literary debates, fights around the Piano. The society man of the Restoration, of the living rooms, the beautiful talker, half-hero is studied there and sometimes summarized of a feature which evokes it and which makes it live.

Ulric Guttinguer was writer with the MUSE Frenchwoman and was president of the Académie of Rouen where he made an effort without slackening, but not without evil, to convert its fellow-citizens with the romanticism.

Ulric, no eye of the seas measured the abyss,

Neither will hérons them plunger, nor the old sailors.
the sun comes to break its rays on their summit,

Thus, no eye, Ulric, did not penetrate the waves

Of your pains without terminal, angel of the sky fallen
You carry in your head and your heart two worlds,
When the evening close to me, you go sad and curved

But at least lets look to me in your heart,

As an apprehensive child inclines himself towards water;
You so full, face faded under the kisses of woman,
Me so young, envying your wound and your evils
Alfred de Musset, July 1829
