Ull

Ull - Ullr as old man norrois - (who means to graduate in the direction of glory) is the son of Sif adopted by Thor.

It is the god of hunting and the winter. Its particular shield was used to the warriors to be protected. It could also sail on water thanks to its shield.

Ull married Skadi, goddess of the cold and hunting. Skadi is the former woman of Njord. The warrior Ull hunter lived in Ydalir (valley of the yew); thus the yew, the tree, represents Ull.

Being regarded as one of the Adzes most important, Ull had to replace Odin (Wuotan) at the time of its absence but was driven out in Sweden with the return of Odin.

Other names of Ull: Ullr, Uller, Ullin, Wulthuz, Ollerus.

Simple: Ull
