Ukkusiksalik national park

The National park Ukkusiksalik is a Canadian National park located in the territory of the Nunavut.

Just located in lower part of the Arctic Circle, it consists of Toundra and coastal areas on the Hudson Bay.

One finds approximately 500 archeological sites, primarily prvenant time of the Compagnie of Hudson Bay.

Many a species animal live in the area: Polar bear, Grizzly, Arctic Wolf, caribou, Pinnipède S, Peregrine falcon. The vegetation is typical tundra, with Bouleau X dwarf, Saules and Benoite S. One finds portions of Northern forest near the rivers.

The park is uninhabited today. Inuit S however lived there since the year 1000 until the years 1960.

The park was created on August 23rd, 2003, becoming the 41eme Canadian national park.
