Uji

Uji (宇治市, Uji-shi ) is a city located at the south of Kyōto in the Préfecture of Kyōto, with the Japan. In 2005, Uji has a population estimated at 189,589 inhabitants, which makes of it more the big city of the prefecture after the town of Kyōto. Uji covers a territory of 67,55 km ², which makes him one population density of 2.793 habitants/km ²

The city is on the river Uji ( Ujigawa ), which takes its source in the Lac Biwa. At the 4th century, the son of the Ōjin emperor made build a palate with Uji.

Uji is famous in Japan for multiple reasons:
