Udo Jürgens (born the September 30th 1934 in Klagenfurt in Austria under the name of Jürgen Udo Bockelmann), is a type-setter and singer of famous Schlager in the German-speaking countries.
In 1950 Udo Jürgens gains a contest of composition I love you organized by Austrian public television ORF with the song . In 1960, it writes the world tube Reach for the Stars interpreted by Shirley Bassey. In 1964 it represents the Austria for the first time at the Concours Eurovision of the song with the song Warum, nur warum? which finishes fifth. Matt Monro, which represents the the United Kingdom decides to make an English adaptation of it Walk Away which places fourth in the hit British parade and twenty third in the American hit parade. Its song Sag ihr, ich tired sy grüßen is fourth of the contest in 1965 and in 1966, it gains finally the contest for Austria with the song Merci, Chérie .
In the following years, it records other successes like Griechischer Wein , Aber bollard put Sahne , MIT 66 Jahren , one of its larger tubes, and Buenos Días, Argentina , which it records with the German team of football in 1978.
