Uddevalla

Uddevalla is the principal agglomeration of the Commune of Uddevalla, in Sweden, in the Comté of Västra Götaland, in the center of the historical province of Bohuslän, most Western of the 25 historical Provinces of Sweden. It counts 29  810 inhabitants.

Founded in 1498 under the name of Oddevold by Danish king Hans, the town of Uddevalla became Swedish in 1658 when the province is yielded by the Denmark to Sweden to the Traité of Roskilde to make great strides at the 18th century thanks to its port and the fishing with the Hareng.
