Uchû No Stellvia

Uchû No Stellvia (; Stellvia comes from two words Latin S, stella , meaning star , and via , or route ; the name of animates can thus be translated like The road which leads to stars ) is a series Anime Japan ease being held in the future distance, in the space. It is carried out by Tatsuo Sato and produced by Studio Xebec. It includes/understands 26 episodes. A continuation had been planned for 2005 but was cancelled for internal problems.

An adaptation Manga created by Ryô Akizuki was serialized in the magazine Dengeki Daiô as from May 2003.

Weave

In the year 2167 the Ground is devastated by strong a electromagnetic Shock wave caused by the Supernova of a star located at twenty light-years, Beta Hydri. Hundred quatre-vingt-neuf years later, in 2356, civilization was rebuilt and whole humanity awaits the second shock wave of the supernova, which will contain much matter of star itself.

Characters

the heroin of the emission is Shima Katase (called Shipon by Arisa), which joined the space program of Stellvia for to see stars by looking at right in front of and not above . At the beginning, one sees it oscillating between relying fully on itself or being believed null. It is very hard-working, although naturally exceptionally gifted.

Kouta is a rather mysterious character. He it boyfriend of Shipon but one knows it little. He has an older sister who directs an astronomical observatory to Japan. He often gives councils quite as enigmatic as itself.

Arisa is the best friend of Shipon, than it meets for the first time on the shuttle leaving the Earth, at the beginning of their studies. It is not as gifted as Shipon in studies or piloting, but it takes as a starting point her friend and calls it sound star of hope . Later in the series it decides to become mecanician rather than pilot.

Rinna was transferred since the Ultima foundation, and sees Shipon like friend and principal rival. She is younger than Shipon and than the majority of the other students. There were few children with Ultima, this one being a new foundation; it thus spent its time to player on the flight simulators, which did of them one of best the pilots of Stellvia.

Yayoi is one of the oldest coeds of the course of Shipon. It had been in the program of Stellvia two years before, but left it after an accident during the training flights. Ayaka is responsible for the accident, but it saved Yayoi. Yayoi informs Kouta of the indices of another accident when Shipon leaves to be involved with Ayaka; Kourou manages to save it. In spite of the attacks on itself and Shipon, Yayoi defends Ayaka when this one is threatened of expulsion of Stellvia.

Akira east is a quiet and rather silent coed, comrade of room of Yayoi. It can be irritated easily when it is surrounded by world a little too a long time, but it likes to spend time with Yayoi, Shipon and Alisa.

One of the Big 4 (better students of the last years) of Stellvia, Ayaka is very competitive. Having a complex of inferiority, it is very perfectionist and hard with itself and does not support to see the others succeeding. It tried to cause an accident with Yayoi when this one threatened to become best class, and wanted to make in the same way with Shipon.

Richard is the main teacher of Stellvia. It is him which made the interview of entry with Shipon. It is avunculaire and rather optimist. He encourages the students to make confidence with the others in critical situations. He often plays failures with Hutter.

Hutter is professor de Stellvia, always very reserved and calm. Rather pessimistic, it counterbalances Richard James.

Shirogane is another professor de Stellvia, that of programming. Impassioned and determined, he insists that the voices of the students are always heard. He has feelings for the nurse of Stellvia, Ren.

Professor dealing with the training flights. She was a pilot of elite and was depressed a long time after having lost the statute of elite. Very hard with the students to force them to make of their better, she likes however their childish sides.

a classmate of Shipon, very noisy and full with energy, called JoJo. He is not very strong in his studies nor in piloting, and is sometimes made fun for that.

; Ren Renge, seiyû Michiko Neya

a nurse of Stellvia, enough dredger. It leaves with several men during the series, making Jinrai jealous, but it seems to like it too. She works much with the pilots, in particular Kouta.

; Pierre Takida, seiyû Yuji Ueda

Another classmate of Shipon, Pierre is beautiful and speaks much.

; Masaru Odawara, seiyû Saiga Mitsuki

Classmate of Shipon, one often sees it with Pierre and Joey. It is called Dai , another reading of the Kanji of his first name (大).

; Najima Gable, seiyû Paku Romi

One of the Big 4 . She quotes sometimes Shakespeare and the Bible. One does not know almost anything else it.

; Kent Austin, seiyû Daisuke Kishio

One of the Big 4 . It tries to initiate competitions with Ayaka and seems to like it.

; Ritsuo Sôjin, seiyû Nobuyuki Hiyama

One of the Big 4 , very silencer and devoted to its studies and the drive. Shipon describes it as a Ninja.

Others

Video game

There are two video games based on animates, one for PlayStation 2 (left on January 22nd, 2004), and the other for Game Boy Advance (left on April 23rd, 2004). In the first one is in the role of a new student with Stellvia, and in the second a professor.

Continuation

The realizer of animates, Tatsuo Sato, declared on his Web site that the plans for one following Stellvia are now impossible due to internal problems .
